Choosing the right heels

Whether its a low cute kitten heel to a sleek dangerous-looking stiletto, shoes can greatly enhance the shape of any lady's legs. Try not to be timid in your selection of shoes that you have on out in public. Many lady's have felt this way about a special type of pump or high heels in general. A must have for every woman's wardrobe is a pair of round or pointed toe basic black pumps. It certainly is likely to find a pair of comfortable high heeled shoes. If, however, you cannot manage to pay for top-of-the-line foot wear, you can--with a few tricks--get away with less expensive shoes. An often "guilty pleasure", it's great to have a closet full of shoes to meet all your moods.

Many women like the "breathing room" of a sandal, even though the look of a pointed toe pump is very stylish. For the most comfort, look at and run your fingers over the underside of the straps. If there are stitches poking out or the seams feel rough, they will probably cut into your instep and toes.

Add don't be afraid to add some fun to your shoe collection with multi-color heels. The more outrageous the print, the better they'll go with everything from little cocktail dresses to your favorite pair of jeans. And, of course, don't forget your basic black (or pink, turquoise or red).
Round-toed pumps are shaped more like your real foot so there's more wriggle room for your toes than the pointed style. Often they come with a chunkier heel than pointed toe pumps, and a strap across the instep--the style known as "Mary Janes".

A mule is a backless shoe that you slide your foot into. They come in a variety of heel heights, though most tend to be lower due to the lack of any stabilizing strap. To help keep mules on your feet (vs. stuck in a sidewalk crack), you can insert grips, which are a textured typed of insole pad. If you tend to be on the clumsy side, with wobbly ankles--always use grips in the mules that you own.

Pink Shoes for Cancer

I buy pink shoes on a fairly regular basis anyway, but when purchasing pink footwear helps to raise breast cancer awareness or fund research, well, then it kind of becomes a no-brainer, doesn't it?
For a list of a few companies who are contributing to the cause in 2010, check out this article on pink ribbon shoes.

When you're done with that, you may also want to take a look at these Leap for the cure items, which feature artwork by Tom Stevenson. T

Tom is a shoe designer and artist who has created totes, tees, and limited edition prints to help raise breast cancer awareness. A portion of the item's profits will be donated to the Freedom Medical Centre.
